Seller: Smartphone sales in Russia jump 30% to 223 bln rbl Jan–Sep
MOSCOW, Oct 19 (PRIME) -- Smartphone sales in Russia soared 30% on the year to 223.3 billion rubles in January–September, handset retailer Euroset said Wednesday in a research.
In natural terms, sales rose 6% to 18.6 million units. The average price spiked 24% to 12,000 rubles.
“On the basis of the received data we can say the smartphone market is gradually restoring. We’d like to note that the market approached the pre-crisis level as of the end of five months of 2016. The main factor supporting positive dynamics in 2016 was the campaign to cut prices, backed up by retailers in early April this year,” Euroset said.
The highest demand was registered for smartphones costing from 20,000 to 30,000 rubles. Their share in total sales rose to 9% from 5%. Handsets for 15,000–20,000 rubles added 1 percentage point to 7%. The share of smartphones for more than 30,000 rubles rose to 7% from 5%.
